Creative Writing - Travel Brochure
Adobe Premier Effects and Editing
This short presentation displays my progress of using Adobe Premier and how I have experimented in using effects for my music video.Premier become an easy software to work with once you know where everything is and how it can be used. There are skills I have learnt through trail and error or watching tutorials. I have self taught myself on how to use this software, showing my determination of trying to do new things and facing challenges.Skills such as editing, by using tools such as 'razor', adding effects for shaky clips or to increase or decrease the speed of a clip and adjusting levels of brightness, contrast and filtering with colours.
Grecian Inspired Red Carpet Dress
My current project I am working on a Grecian inspired dress for an occasion. This time I had to make up a brief in which would include either a decade or a style. I decided to go for this theme, as I wanted to produce something creative and elegant. I wanted to challenge myself to create a formal dress which means that I would have experimented with different styles of garments and themes.
As this is an on-going project, there are few pages which haven't been completed yet, but there is work which proves that my research and designs are very much focused. As the all main research tasks have been completed, I only have recently completed my prototype of my dress and moved on to make the real garment.
Over the years of studying textiles, my garment construction has improved by exploring stitches and which ones are suitable for which material. Trail and Error was also another way I got to understand construction and learn from my mistakes. Making a prototype, displays how I can be creative to adapt a garment into something of my own.
As this is an on-going project, there are few pages which haven't been completed yet, but there is work which proves that my research and designs are very much focused. As the all main research tasks have been completed, I only have recently completed my prototype of my dress and moved on to make the real garment.

Architecture Inspired Jacket
I have also completed another textiles project, this time, the design brief was given rather than having an optional choice and being creative with what I chose.
The design brief was 'As an independent designer of modern garments you have been commissioned to design and manufacture a coat/jacket/protective outerwear garment based on architecture. The garment should appeal to fashion conscious females aged 16- 25 years old'.
Similar to previous textiles projects, research and planning was the first stage of this project which then led to designs and then final construction. However, there needed to be more focus on research to ensure that my ideas would not go off themed. Not only that but I have taken my skills from GCSE Textiles and improved them increasingly at a A-Level standard. Below is a link to all pages for my coursework.
I got introduced to new decorative techniques such as origami and free hand embroidery. I had to experiment will many suitable decorative techniques for inspiration on designs. Furthermore, I got to analyse the pros and cons of each, proving that I have understood the techniques and where they work the best.
My research also includes looking into designers such as Amile Hrustic who uses origami in an innovative way and Hussein Chalayan who has created dresses for Lady Gaga - most notable has to be the bubble dress, his work has been inspired by architecture and sculpture.

Punk Lolita
Punk Lolita was one of my favourite projects, as the theme
itself was completely different and unique compared to a typical design brief such
as ‘produce a prom dress'. This project
required me to do a lot of research regarding Japanese street style and how it
has been a major influence in fashion. Throughout the project, research and planning
have been essential aspects. My research pages include mood boards, trend predictions,
individual research, product analysis,designs, testing and modifications.

Technology has to a big part in this project as I got to learn about 2D design and how it can be compatible for textiles design. A popular decorative technique used in top fashion retails and by designers - laser cut, was also done through 2D Design. It was a good opportunity to see how industrial machinery is used to produce 'laser cut' patterns on garments.

Current Project - Music Video
Currently in Media studies, I am working on a music video, in which I'm in the stage of editing and improving to complete it as a final draft.
In this project, I used a new software, Adobe Premiere where I wasn't familiar with, however practicing in creating videos and editing helped me to be more confident.
Similar to AS Media, research and planning had to be completed first to support my ideas and help me progress them. The research and planning tasks were more intense and had to be very specific.
The planning tasks in specific gave me a clear indication on how the industry would approach in making a music video alongside planning shoots and signing official documents.
Draft Music Video
Another blog was created to display my work towards the research and planning aspect of the unit, as well as extra work such as behind the scenes and production logs to view my progress throughout the project.
There was a lot of skills required into researching, planning and editing, hence why a lot of drafts are needed until the final completed video. Skills for the editing include; understanding the frames and how the footage needs to placed, adding filter, adjusting the brightness and contrast volumes.
Alongside the production of a music video, the brief also instructs me to create two out of three ancillary tasks to support with the main coursework. I chose to create a digipak and magazine album advert, to ensure that there is a flow in the theme of 'music'. The digipak and magazine advert are also in the drafting stage and are made using Indesign.

'Melody'
Melody is a completed music magazine I produced in AS-Level Media Studies. Before I got to create the basic magazine layout, I had to conduct plenty of research to support the brief given and for my ideas. The next step included intense planning and drafting tasks. Ranging from planning photoshoots to posting my development of my magazine. Every week, I posted a production log where I wrote about what I did in lesson, what problems I encountered and how I overcame them.
All tasks are evidently showcased in a blog dedicated to this unit - g321geetagohil.blogspot.co.uk/.
